Firestarters did not need nearly the buffs they got in the quirk pass. I am sick and tired of getting killed by second rate pilots simply because of an insta-win mech. The 8 Small Pulse variant its as bad as the pre-nerf boom jegar or splat cat.
I am not saying anyone piloting them is bad, I am saying that I have been killed time and time again by arm-locked noobs that happened to walk around the right corner.

And on that note, IS mechs now have a massive advantage over most clan mechs. Yes there are some top tier clan mechs, but there are entire chassis that are unusable in the current state of the game. I will admit I am biased because of being both a Clan pilot and a Light Mech pilot, so I really got the short end of the stick here. But I am upset that i paid $30 for a DOA mech. I LOVE the Mist Lynx and enjoy piloting it, but it is inferior in every way to IS lights and even other Clan lights.

Long story short, the quirks went way too far on most mechs, and Clans need either a quirk pass or more buffs to our weapons. It is quite obvious at this point that the knee jerk reactions by the masses were not as needed as they claimed.

Also most are available via c-bills now, so they can not cry about pay to win, not that it was ever an issue.

TL;DR: read title

You do realize that the FS-A has to get under 200 meters to their target to get any real benefit? Thats kinda like complaining about the Oxide being overpowered. Here's a tip, aim for the legs. Lights blow up real easy now.

In regards to the Clan Lights, well, jury is still out on the lynx, however the Ferret does a real good job, of imitating a light and making sure IS Lights' have a bad day.

Dont forget the clan mechs are also getting quirks soon, so just deal with it until then its not a big deal.

Yup, and I can assure you, the second leg is much easier than the first :>

I have the Lynx mastered, it does not get good enough, it is still too slow and fragile to matter. It is nimble, but the Spider is just as quick with better hitboxes and tonnage to play with.

Sure you can aim for the legs but it still moves that much faster than any clan mech.

Quirks will only get you so far. Especially on Clan Lights. The IS whiners did not have to "deal with" any clan superiority. They just whined until everything got nerfed to all hell.

You say that like i care about any other weight class. I am saying why did a top chassis get buffed so heavy any way? they nerfed ECM into useless now, the raven is in need of quirks more then the FSA now.

This thread has a bit of everything controversial! It's exciting!

- Nerf Firestarter
- Clans UNDER powered
- Mist Lynx DOA
- IS Mechs over-quirked
- ECM now useless

a mech with 120m range (max 240) is not an easy thing to run properly.

Well i personally questioned why jenner 6 energy was tier 1 and firestarter 6 energy was tier 3 but c'est la vie

The clans are under powered. Anyone claiming otherwise is blinding themselves with prejudice. IS mechs have MORE customization, more pinpoint damage, and the clans have more damage (spread out a lot more) and LRMs that have some damage under 180m. The quriks have taken away their range advantage and DPS superiority in most cases

While my clan mech gets 50m more range, it gets half the damage. and the FSA runs 30 kph faster. with a **** ton more armor.

Seriously, if a mech that can do zero damage (or thereabouts) outside of 300 meters gives you THAT much trouble, you need to look at other reasons than "the mech is op".

I've argued from day 1 that clans aren't "op", but I've never
EVER
Even remotely thought they were "up" in any way.

I gave a lot more reasons than that, and explained why the range does not matter. When i am driving a light (clan or IS) the range difference is minimal.

They're starting to get their Tier 4 and 5s, with a fair share of Tier 3s.

Some Clams are pretty bad.

3 are good, of course, so we must blanket nerf them all.

Firestarter doesn't need to be nerfed. Light mechs are generally underpowered. PGI just needs to buff the other light mechs
  • Commando
  • Locust
  • Raven (close, but not quite there yet)
  • Puma
  • Kit Fox
  • Mist Lynx
The Jenner is fine.

The range matters a lot though, it's not always viable to shoot at something in that close range and if you go as much as 200m away (which is barely anything) the damage is severely diminished.

If nothing else the firestarter should have a hard wired flamer to start, maybe 2.

+1 that the firestarter is OP.

Dire Wolf is debatable. It has serious draw backs and soon the IS will have their own version of it available (King Crab).

I also think that a strong case for the Griffin and Shadowhawk can be made.

That the Jenner can steadily fire 6 medium lasers is not fine, it is OP and needs the Nerf Hammer of Doom taken to it.
